I've always been a bit of a hoarder... Okay, that's a lie. I've always been an extreme hoarder. For some strange reason, I feel such strong emotional attachment to my materialistic belongings. Even when I find absolutely no use for things anymore, I just have the tendency to keep it folded and tucked away in some corner. For that reason, I still have clothes and things from when I was in middle school, high school and my early years of college. In a few short months I'll be starting a new chapter in my life and so I figured it's the right time to find a new home for my no longer used possessions....
I spent a few hours just digging through my old clothing and accessories and packing them away in cardboard boxes to be donated. As I pulled out each thing, I started to recall when I bought it, how often I wore it and how much I loved or hated it. Somehow it made me remember who I was at that moment. I remember in high school I was obsessed with Hollister. I remember how "cool" I felt when I wore those (ugly) t-shirts with the big Hollister logos printed across them. It made me cringe to see how many of those t-shirts my teenage self owned.
Cringe-inducing? Yes. Embarrassing? No. I think we all go through phases in our life where we want to be who we're not. I thought I was "cool" in high school, because I dressed like everyone else. But now that I'm a young adult, I appreciate who I am. I love that I can dress however I like without having to impress anyone but myself.

Hanging out on Krog Street
It feels as though I've been in hibernation for the past two months and all of a sudden it's already March 2015. I suppose that's not too terrible of a thing considering I don't particularly like winter. Having lived in Georgia my whole life, I don't think I would be able to survive a winter up north or anywhere insanely cold. Fortunately for us, Spring will be here in just a few short weeks. We took these photos several weeks back when the weather was significantly warmer.
It’s actually the first time in a while since I’ve pulled out my camera and went out to take photos. We have both been so busy with other things, that we just haven’t had the time to take photos like we use to. Come to think of it, photography has always been one of our shared hobbies. Back then when we use to see each other only once or twice a year, we would spend those days taking photos of each other.

Flower Power
Floral prints are so much fun to style because of its versatility. There are so many different ways to incorporate floral patterns into your outfits. It can be worn as a loud pattern or styled in a more subtle way. It may seem kind of "obvious," but I really enjoy wearing floral prints during Spring and Summer. It makes me want to go outside and appreciate the nice weather. It may be kind of hard to tell from the photos but yes, we're all wearing flowers!

Waiting to see where life takes me
Ever since I graduated, I've been feeling the desire to do whatever it is that makes me happy. Regardless of how trivial it may be, I've decided that if it makes me happy then I'll do it. I guess it's that realization that life is so short and that you're only young for so long. I can't dress however I want when I'm older, so I might as well do it now that I'm still young. If I want to wear bright lipstick, then I'll wear bright lipstick. If I want to wear a short skirt then I'll wear a short skirt.

Purr-fect weather for photos!
It's probably because we shop together so often, but Van and I own so many of the same clothing items. I think we could match every single day for an entire month if we wanted to. To add to our endless collection of the same clothes, Van found these awesome cat tee shirts (an inside joke between the three of us) at a store called Five Below. We decided to take the same plain tee shirt and dress it up according to our own personal style. Here's a quick OOTD! :)

Come hang out with us!
I find it hard to believe that we're already approaching the end of 2013. It's been a very eventful year for me. A year that I'll remember even more vividly thanks to the magic of photographs. With all the technology that we have, people often fail to appreciate how wonderful it is and lucky we are to be able to capture everything that we do. These days, I wonder if people still keep photo albums. And no, I'm not talking about photo albums on facebook, but real and tangible photo albums. It's always so nostalgic for me to open up my old photo albums and remember everything that I've done and everything that I've seen. Life is too beautiful to not capture.

First Video
We decided to be a bit more experimental today. Rather than our usual photos for outfit of the day, we chose to film instead. This video shows two ways in which we would style our combat boots. Personally, I love pairing combat boots with girlier outfits and prints (i.e polka dots). I think its a great way to make your outfit more masculine. Both outfits, however, are quite casual but early fall appropriate. You can easily transition these two outfits in late fall or winter by adding a jacket or blazer. And if it's even colder where you live, then throw on additional accessories such as beanies and scarfs. This is the first time we've actually filmed on my DSLR, so the shots are rather shaky and rough but I think that we can improve with some more practice. These 42 seconds took us literally an hour or two to film and edit. Filming is definitely much trickier than it seems. Mad props to people who do this on a day to day basis.

Unfortunately, this was the only photo that we ended up taking today. :(
